Rumors of FeedBurner’s demise have been greatly exaggerated for well over a decade and a half. Now though, it seems those rumors are true. While FeedBurner isn’t technically shutting down, Google is doing away with its most useful features, like email subscriptions. And the truth of the matter is… FeedBurner has always been a bit buggy and unreliable. I should have abandoned it a long time ago. It’s time for me to say, “GOODBYE!” to FeedBurner and “HELLO!” to Mailchimp.
Having managed email campaigns for many clients over my 12 year career as a website designer, SEO and internet marketing consultant, I’m already pretty familiar with Mailchimp, so making the switch from FeedBurner to Mailchimp will be an easy transition for me. More importantly, Mailchimp is better for you, because I can better control exactly what gets delivered to your inbox and when.
What does this mean for you?
If you’re already a subscriber, you don’t have to do a thing. I’ve already imported your email address into Mailchimp.
If you can’t remember whether you’ve already subscribed or not, it’s cool… you can just click here & fill out the form. If you’re already subscribed, you’ll get a “you’re already subscribed” error message when you hit the subscribe button.
What if you never subscribed?
Well, shame on you. And I’ll try to pretend my feelings aren’t hurt. 😉
It’s never too late to right that wrong. And it couldn’t be easier to subscribe. Just… click here!
